Reclaim the Game

...because football is a sport, not a business

Core Aims

Reclaim the Game (RTG) aims to highlight the serious issues that now confront football and are threatening the very future of the game as a sport. By highlighting these issues, RTG hopes to encourage debate amongst ‘true’ supporters concerning the crisis in football. RTG doesn’t claim to have all the answers. Instead, it just hopes to attract like minded people – whether you are a supporter of long standing, or a recent ‘true’ supporter. Nor does it matter who you support, or why. The most important points are that you:

 •  have a genuine love of the game;

 • can see that the game’s ever increasing corporate culture is ruining football
   as a competitive spectacle;

 • and that, financial considerations are perverting footballers and
    administrators for their own enrichment, and at true supporters’ expense.

Each week, RTG will be highlighting a particular topic and invite comment, so please feel free to do so, or simply, just register your support by signing up. Depending on how many people sign up, RTG will undertake to extend the debate by communicating your opinions and promote possible actions. And yes, that is a core RTG belief – we can do something about it. We can change things if we have enough people who want to alter the course of our treasured sport.

Whilst a lot of good work has been done by various supporters’ groups and trusts, each of these has their own agenda and focus. Often and, sadly, from RTG’s own experience, a vocal minority usually run these organisations based on their own militancy and personal agendas.

RTG believes that the effort must be a grass roots movement across all supporters – young and old, premiership team or non-league team supported. If you are one of the silent majority, have a voice in changing the course that football takes.

So please sign up to Reclaim The Game and pass on our URL to any like minded friends.

Why RTG?

Football is a simple sport loved by people the world over. Corporate values are taking the game away from its supporters so a few greedy people can make a fast buck.
